Today is the first day that we are allowed to sell the new Cover Florida Plans. As most of you are aware, these plans are designed to offer coverage for people that are uninsurable in the individual insurance market. Please do not think that they are intended to provide lower cost coverage. If you are medically insurable you will find less expensive coverage with much better benefits in the regular market. I am very pleased to see that these plans recently been made available to the uninsurable. Unfortunately, I have dealt with a number of people who, because of current or past health issues, have been declared "uninsurable." Many times I have had to turn people away with no options. Gov. Crist was aware of this and responded to the need for quality health insurance plans for people with health issues. Blue Cross is one of the comapnies chosen to assist with this program.
